gone

Christmases

when they

would roam

the villages

caroling amid

candle light;

shopped for

basic needs.

Commercialism

is Santa Claus

with a beard

dressed like a

clown with no

frown, parading

with reindeers;

mingling here

and there with

shoppers. This

is Jolly Ole

Saint Nick's

delightful way

to intoxicate

those children

with his gifts

and bright new

toys so parents each year look

very affable in their sight
