Save the environment now, is true love
All must help cap green-house gases thereof
Investigate causes for this abuse
No sand on beaches, garbage on the loose
The abuse on Robyn is no excuse.
Vows of love broken with arrows and blows
And yet February brings verses and prose
Love springs in the air for one special day
Every year folks wait for Venus to say
No more pain, I love you take my bouquet
Though Lydgate did write love notes for his king
Inquiringly though, who started this thing?
Not sure why her face caught a baseball swing
Envy because Robyn can sweetly sing
Served her Tyson's jam-puff wrapped with brown sting.
Don't martyr your love on Valentine's day
And do the right thing so love will hold sway
Yes, yes! Their fray frayed San Francisco Bay.

Dear Paterika
ReplyDeleteAkthough I am a hopeless romantic, I never have been much of a fan of Valentine's Day. However, really enjoyed your poem, especially the last verse.
Keep up the great writing.

Yes, environment means us too, don't fray.

Kia ora Paterika,
ReplyDeleteA Happy Valentine's Day to you as well. I gave Tara the gift of a movie and dinner with her best girl friend and a night off from all of us males in the household.
I love your poem. Perhaps love for the Earth should be a focus for more of us, especially those in positions of real power.
I must agree with Bob, that I try to view everyday with my beautiful loved one as a Valentines Day. Have a beautiful day Paterika.
Aroha,
Robb
