(in rhyming Trimeter)
Pure water fosters health
Health builds blocks to real wealth
Water hides in the snow
Waterproof steals its glow
Water can be a verb
Watering plants superb
Water used as a noun
Tapped too from underground
And flows above the turf
Guys swim in it and surf
It has a swell formula
And is life's umbrella
Like manna H2o
Falls from on high to low
Pledge now to stop the waste
Water can't be replaced.

Kia ora Paterika,
ReplyDeleteSuperb, and what a timely reminder of this precious resource. I still get amazed when I see the crystal clear streams and rivers in the Ruahines - and slake my thirst from Her sweet waters. A great gift to be treasured.
Aroha,
Robb
Paterika your poem quenched my thirst but I cried for those who have none. well done.
ReplyDeleteI cried again today when I discovered your review on my book Mountains of Our Minds. Yes, I did find my love in Turkmenistan and married her. Her photo is on page 95, opposite the poem. I have published more of Abdul Samay's poems on my Afghanistan blog. He wrfites so neautifully.
Heartfelt thanks. Bob
