As I think of you today
I have this warm and friendly feeling
About your pending visit and all
Also, I think of your many miles, and ports of call.
A budding friendship through e-mail
Yet the colour of your eyes I need to see
Even though your soul shines in the prose
And in it, Eros comes and shows his nose.
This special dress today I wear for you
White against an ebony skin will do
And a rose petal gown that is so trim
Bedecks these eyes not yet dim.
You have a special way of writing
Invigorating as the sunshine rays
Bringing such joy that goodness knows
You lift me up and erase my woes.
With pleasurable anticipation
I wrote your numbers down, so precisely
Then made the call on the telephone
Oh such ecstasy, was there in your voice and tone.
And in deep thought you did beg the question
How long do you want me to stay?
Then answered you, forever my dearest one
So many treasures, we must share.
Please pack the bare essentials
One carry-on bag, enough I would say
Budget you may, but go book your fare
Waiting for you a table for two, and car all year.
