Lighthouse

Look! straight through the window to the far right;
in the eyes a sentinel of delight
guiding those battered souls, away from shoals;
heavenly bliss wrapped up in its structure
towers over, the land high in the sky;

hope for all folks who are adrift at sea;
overcast with nightshades you still do shine
unrestricted, you beam your light divine;
such rock and steel, you stand still to adore;
eyeing, you bring lost ones safely ashore.

  2. Thank you for viewing my blog. I appreciate it very much.

    I do dabble in poetry and have quite a collection of my own. Maybe someday I will do a blog on just poetry.

    I enjoyed your poem about the Lighthouse. So descriptive.

    In the 70; a number of my friends were lighthouse keepers and I spent many a wonderful holiday or weekend in these remote and rocky headlands.

    A lady friend of mine married a lighthouse keeper many years ago and I said to her, " You are very lucky as you will only have to do light housekeeping."

  7. My dear Marja

    Thank you very much for a peep into your itinerary. Please have an enjoyable holiday. Much happiness in all those things that you do. I'll ride out your leave of absence with my thoughts of you and your family. I still have lots of unfinished reading to do at your site, so I shall be visiting your blogs while you are away.

    I look forward to seeing pictures from the Holland.
