Prayers on
Entering the Church
I
will I enter thy house, and offer my vows to Thee.

I
will come into Your house in the greatness of Your mercy: and in fear I will
worship toward your holy temple. Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness because
of my enemies; make Your way straight before me, that with a clear mind I may
glorify You forever, One Divine Power worshiped in three persons: Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit.

O
You, I lift up my eyes, You who are enthroned in the Heavens.
Behold
as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master,
As
the eyes of a maid look to the hand of her mistress,
So
our eyes look to the Lord our God, till He has mercy on us. A’-men
I
will come into Thy house in the multitude of Thy mercy: and in Thy fear I will
worship towards Thy holy temple. Lead me, O Lord, in Thy righteousness because
of mine enemies, make Thy way straight before me, that with a clear mind I may
glorify Thee forever, One Divine Power worshipped in three Persons, Father, Son
and Holy Spirit. A’-men
Prayer on
Leaving the Church
(nunc
dimittis – now release)
አሁን ይሁን
(now, however)
Lord,
now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy Word: for mine
eyes have seen thy salvation, which thou hast prepared before the face of all
people; a light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
A’-men
